MRKH CONNECT
& I’M OK
In 2021 MRKH Connect launched a photo challenge to collect images of the things, places and people that have helped or inspired us on our journey. These images, combined with short captions, created a montage of inspirational reflections and messages from people across the world. This uplifting collection offered a heartfelt snapshot of what helped people to inspire and encourage others.
This is what has inspired this charity to work with Richard as part of his I’m OK project, encouraging people to talk about their mental health, and to share positive stories with others.
The MRKH Connect team has reached out to their community to invite community members to “join the project, to help shine a light on our amazing community and raising awareness publicly through your words and photos.” You can find out more about MRKH from their website. They are inviting submissions from everyone - whether with MRKH or supporting someone who has MRKH.
“we want to hear from you because we believe everyone affected by MRKH has a story to share” MRKH Connect
“it’s wonderful to have the opportunity to work with a whole community, and to help them engage with others” Richard
Each of the photos and words represents the full and original submission.
The words and photos are theirs.

Ironically, you could say, MRKH is an invisible syndrome; missing parts, silent struggles, unknown facts. Yet, somehow, the impact of this life-altering diagnosis isn’t so subtle on the eye—or the mind.

I’m ok…I wasn’t always even when I thought I was.

MRKH 25 years ago and way before google could tell me what it was. My then new girlfriend, had reached a point where I should know the secret about her body.

Real life is full of highs and lows, curve balls and uncertainties. I had never heard of MRKH until my daughter was diagnosed. I saw the effect it had on her over the years although we didn't talk about it a lot back then. The information less easy to find and quite honestly difficult to comprehend.

I’m not great at creative writing or putting feelings into words… I’m definitely more of a “stick to the facts” kind of girl… but here goes!!
MRKH Connect want you to know and understand as much as possible about MRKH - visit their website to find out more; https://mrkhconnect.co.uk/resources/
There are alway people you can talk to and you may find any of these resources helpful if you are not OK today. Richard has no affiliation or connection with any of these groups.
